Delete your TaraSec account

Request deletion

Open My TaraSec account in the TaraSec app and select Delete account. If you are already viewing this page, send the request from the email address used for the TaraSec account:

Email an account-deletion request

If the button does not open your email app, write directly to info@taransvar.no with the subject TaraSec account deletion request.

Include the email address or phone number associated with the account. Do not send your password, login token, hotspot password or payment credentials.

Verification

To prevent somebody else from deleting your account, TaraSec may send a confirmation to the account's verified email address or phone number. Additional verification may be requested only when reasonably necessary.

What will be deleted

• the global TaraSec subscriber profile and active authentication sessions;
• identity-provider links used to sign in;
• saved personal contact information that is not required for another lawful purpose;
• device-to-account access associations that are no longer required.

What may be retained

Limited accounting, fraud-prevention, security, dispute and legal-compliance records may be retained for the period required for those purposes. Where practical, retained records are pseudonymized or separated from information that directly identifies you. Local hotspot operators may hold separate operational records and may need to be contacted independently.

Effect of deletion

Deletion ends access to the global account, including its balance, usage history and participating-hotspot associations. Deleting the account does not automatically remove the TaraSec app from your phone; you can uninstall it separately through Android.

Local hotspot accounts

A username created only by an individual hotspot operator is a local hotspot account, not necessarily a global TaraSec account. Ask that hotspot operator to delete its local account records.

See the TaraSec App privacy policy for more information.
