Trust & attack resistance

A collaborative security system must assume that participants can be wrong, compromised or malicious.

Core principle

External signals should be authenticated and locally verifiable. Trust should be graded rather than absolute, and externally influenced states should expire.

Attack the model

Study false reports, compromised routers, collusion, selective suppression, signaling floods, reputation manipulation, conflicting evidence and recovery after a trusted participant is breached.

Design safeguards such as trust tiers, rate limits, audit trails, local validation and time-bounded decisions — then try to defeat them.

Discuss it with the TaraSec AI

Ask for the current trust-related code paths and propose an adversarial test plan before changing anything.
